100 Days Of Gifs

Hello, people on the internet! Recently I decided to challenge myself with a new challenge: to master my motion design skills and, most of all, to improve (is this the right word?) my creativity, I've decided to document and do a 100 animation challenge, but with a shift: 100 days of gifs.

Any topic? I don't have a specific topic to guide me, most of all because I don't want to feel "trapped" or limited by a certain area. I will let my imagination run wild as I create my very first gifs. I'll try to find a topic, but I'll use my first ones to experiment, to taste waters.

Why gifs? Gifs are shorter and smaller than videos and had a certain charm that makes them pretty awesome. They have to be short, catchy, and have a special touch of originality. Since their time is limited, one has to be very conscious of the action that wants to loop, and this motion has to be the center and attention catcher.

Anything more? I'll upload my gif series on Instagram, but I'll documenting my journey here. Here you have the very first 5 gifs and its development.

DAY ONE

A simple, catchy gif where forms are the main character, featuring a song from The 1975.

The shape change isn't subtle (at all) and the color variates, aiming to look unpolished, quick and catchy.

DAY TWO

For this day, I wanted to create something handmade, done by the old but always loving frame by frame animation. I chose Disneyland as the main topic and drew a shape (reminds me of Morph from Treasure Planet) that rounder the photo and formed the word Disneyland.

DAY THREE

For this day, I wanted to create something handmade, done by the old but always loving frame by frame animation. I chose Disneyland as the main topic and drew a shape (reminds me of Morph from Treasure Planet) that rounder the photo and formed the word Disneyland.
